HOA Pressure Washing: Scheduling Common Areas Around Residents

By Patriot Home Service. Published: . Updated: . Published by Patriot Home Service.

For HOA boards and managers: how to schedule pressure washing of sidewalks, amenity areas and entrances with fewer disruptions for residents in Charlotte.

Cleaning sidewalks, pool decks, entrance monuments and amenity buildings goes more smoothly when residents know what is coming. Here is a simple way for a board or manager to plan it.

Map the areas

List each area to be cleaned: sidewalks, curbs, mail kiosks, signs, pool deck, clubhouse walls. Note which surfaces they are, since concrete, painted surfaces and stone may need different methods.

Pick the timing

Choose days and hours with less foot traffic. Pool areas are easier outside swim season or before opening hours. Avoid days when the community has events.

Tell residents

Send notice ahead of time with the dates, the areas and any request to move cars or keep pets inside. Signs at entrances on the day help too.

Water and runoff

Ask your contractor where the water will go and how they will protect plants and storm drains.

Get it in writing

A written scope with areas, methods and dates makes it easy for the board to review and approve.
